Week One is Over

We've managed to get one full week of programming done and nobody got hurt. Three cheers for that. As well as tons of thanks to all (too numerous to mention individually at this time) who gave their time and energy to making it happen.

Highlights included: The Tim Perkis, Aero Mic'd, Sagan performance of Saturday afternoon.... It was Aero Mic'd's first live performance and you never woulda guessed it. The Tagalog broadcast from the Asian Women's shelter was an energetic and exciting addition to our transmissions. Tune into them every Thursday evening. Also Jeff Johnson's reading and playing music to present his theory about the new musical genre of "hypop" from the latest issue of Kitchen Sink Magazine (http://www.kitchensinkmag.com ) had our critics raving. Kitchen Sink will be presenting stuff every Friday.

Absolutely everyone who participated this week was excellent and deserves a huge THANK YOU. Those of you who were not broadcasting should tune in and/or come by to experience the magic that all of our participants bring to the airwaves. (sorry for the cheese)

We hope to have streaming sound clips by next week, stay tuned for that. In the meantime you can check back at http://www.conceptualart.org/npr for all the latest news about our broadcast activities (like streaming audio clips). Also if you know of someone who would like to be on this mailing list, please send their email (or preferably have them send their own emai)l to: npr [at-nospam] conceptualart.org

In publicity news, NPR was featured on the Indybay Arts page (http://www.indybay.org/arts/) and it looks like "All Animals are Equal" will be featured in the SF Weekly calendar this week. We may need to purchase a few complimentary water bowls once word gets out about our animal-centric broadcasting. Don't miss "All Animals are Equal" on Wednesday and "Cat Chat" on Thursday.

Check this out.... New this week on NPR !!!

Eric Fixler will present the first installment of "Your Planet Has Been Invaded" on Wednesday and Sarah Lockhart will present an interview with Mission Movie director Lise Swensen in advance of Saturday's "Mission Movie" Event.

Don't miss comedian/councilman Tom Ammiano this Saturday at 1pm as one small but exciting part of a day of festivities celebrating the recently released "Mission Movie". http://www.missionmovie.org/

As always come on down to Southern Exposure, 401 Alabama Street at 17th, Wed. - Friday 4-8pm and Saturdays 11-5pm.
